How to quickly make an iced tea.
🔧 What You Need:
- Loose-leaf tea (check the recipe)
- Filtered water (hot)
- Timer
- Ice (a lot!)
- Teapot or brewing jug
- Strainer
- Serving glass or shaker
- Garnishes (lemon, mint, etc.)
🔥 Step-by-Step Instructions:
Boil the Water
- Use filtered water for best taste.
- Refer to the tea’s required temperature (e.g. 100°C for herbal, 80–90°C for green/white).
- Measure the Tea
- Use double the usual quantity:
- ▪ Normally: 1 tsp per cup
- ▪ For iced tea: 2 tsp per cup
Steep the Tea
- Use a timer. Follow exact steeping times:
- ▪ Over-steeping = bitter taste.
- Cover the teapot while steeping.
- Sweeten (Optional) If using sugar or syrup, add while tea is still hot so it dissolves fully.
- Flash Chill Immediately Fill a shaker or tall glass full of ice.
- Pour the hot tea over ice.
- Shake or stir quickly to cool it down fast.
- Strain and Serve Strain the tea into a new glass full of ice.
- Add garnish like lemon slice, mint, or fruit based on the tea.
❗ DOs and DON’Ts
✅ DO:
- Use fresh water and clean utensils.
- Brew strong tea (double strength) for iced.
- Garnish nicely – presentation matters.
❌ DON’T:
- Reuse tea leaves.
- Over-steep the tea.
- Let the tea sit before chilling — it’ll go flat or bitter.
